There is no project too big or small that we can’t cater for

Hannah Purss | Guide
Sandrifter Safaris Alice Springs

Hannah is one of Australia’s only female cameleers and has trekked over 4,000km across the country with up to 30 camels and owns 30 camels! They range from two days to 25 years old.

When Hannah isn’t guiding with Sandrifter, Hannah and her partner Evan run a successful camel consulting business. They travelled throughout the world with camels and horses, and trained multiple animals. Their work with camels and brumbies in Australia also lead to them being invited to be the guests of Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Advisor for Culture and Heritage in the Court of His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at the prestigious Al Dhafra Festival in the UAE.

They spent their time there observing camel and horse, racing and beauty pageants and discussing training techniques and the history of camels and horses with their Bedouin hosts.

Hannah has trekked from Alice Springs to Port Pirie in South Australia last year with the camels. “It took us about four months to walk down. It was really full on. We slept next to the camels every night and we walked every day for kilometres in over 40 degree heat. We nearly ran out of food a few times and we survived sandstorms. It was an amazing experience and it was great to meet a lot of people”.

We are very lucky to have Hannah on our team and you could be lucky enough to spend time in Central Australia with her.

You dream it…we create it and make it come alive
